Charles Cumming was born in Scotland in 1971. He was educated at Eton and graduated from the university of Edinburgh with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature. In 1995, he was approached by the UK’s secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and used his experiences as the basis for his debut novel. Charles Cumming’s novels have been translated into thirteen languages. He is the winner of the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger and Bloody Scotland Crime Book of the Year.
