The Marchesa

We are delighted to be starting our season with a return visit from the award-winning novelist Sarah Dunant. Having started her writing career with political thrillers, Sarah turned to historical fiction, focusing particularly on the Italian Renaissance. After a trilogy of novels about women’s lives in that period, followed by two books about the Borgia family, Sarah’s latest novel is an account of the first lady of the Renaissance, art collector and political manipulator, Isabella d’Este, Marchesa of Mantua.
